Almost ready to go.

Well its almost scary time now. Both our replacements have arrived at work and will be learning our jobs over the next three weeks, then we are out of work bums !!! Having not ever been unemployed before, ( since leaving school, thirty some years ago) the prospect is a little daunting, but extremely exciting !!
We've just had the most delicious Peking Duck in Plymouth today and whilst in the restaurant we realised that the next time we will be eating Peking Duck, we will actually be in Peking (how cool is that)! Talking of food, it appears that food on the Trans-mongolian train is pretty dire. Apparently you get unidentifiable meat, starch of the day and boiled vegetables. (I guess Russia is not renowned for its food !). So we are stocking up on breakfast bars, cuppa soups, and as a last resort pot noodles!! (Although Lesley says that she won't eat them, just wait till she's hungry). The Mongolian and Chinese restaurant cars are supposed to be much better (they join the train on entry to each country), so we only have to last for about six days before we can get a decent meal.
We've got almost everything we need to take now and our bags are actually packed (yeah I know sad aint it). After much deliberation we decided to leave a lot of clothes out, as we will probably end up buying loads when we get to Asia. We decided that it was better to go with half empty bags and fill them up rather than taking full bags and then buying more bags !!
Well this is our last update before we go, our next entry will be from Moscow so until then "Dosveedanya"
