Arrived safetly in Singapore, and after the recent events we were glad to be out of Thailand. As much as we liked the Country the accident put a bit of a dampner on it. However, hearing about the plane crash in Phuket has made our problems seem fairly insignificant.

We are staying in a lovely hotel in Little India. It is a great place to use as a base, all the sights, sounds and smells. It's like real India, only much cleaner! The hotel is really top class, it is situated two streets away from the local Mosque. At 5am every morning we are awoken by the lovely sound of the local Muslims being called to prayer. This also happens several times throughout the day, but it is really lovely to hear.

Although we have had to take it fairly easy in Singapore, because of our injuries, we have managed to get around most of the city. For the first two days we travelled around on the MRT visiting the variety of shopping Malls and Food Courts. The shopping malls are amazing, any one of them would put Drakes Circus to shame and there are dozens of them! Not far from where we are staying is the Sim Lim Mall, which is about the size of Cribbs Causeway and only sells IT equipment and cell phones!!!

Singapore houses a diversity of cultures, some of which have their own areas in the city, like Chinatown, the Arab Quarter and Little India, and to go with this diversity goes an amazing array of dining delights. Each day has been a major struggle just to decide what to eat! We have found the best places to eat are in the food halls and Hawker's Markets, where you can buy a little bit of everything from the various stalls and then eat it all at the same table.

Steve has been really missing his guitar throughout the trip so he decided to pick one up in Singapore. He managed to buy a second hand "fixer-upper" for about £10.00, which needed new machine heads. He managed to pick up some machine heads and with the aid of his trusty Gerber multi tool managed to fit them. He's now trying to learn "Waltzing Maltilda" for when we get to Australia!

We visited Singapore Zoo which is probably the best zoo we have ever been to. It is set in a beautiful part of Singapore and is very clean and animal friendly. We also visited Underwater World on Sentosa Island which was fab!
We have also spent some time just lazing on the beach.

I have managed to remove the stitches from Steve's ear using, you guessed it, the good old Gerber multi tool, and it all seems to be healing up fine.

While we've been in Singapore, we have discovered that we have a new addition to the household in the form of Maxwell, an eight week old golden labrador. Kym and Ryan have emailed us photos, but we can't wait to see him for real.

We head off to Perth, Western Australia tomorrow and hopefully pick up our campervan which will be our home for the next two months. We don't know what the situation will be in the Outback regarding access to the internet, but we will try and update the blog when we can.

Thanks everyone for your kind messages and support after our accident. There was a low moment when we actually thought about coming home, but then decided if we did we would still be in pain, so why not just carry on!

We have uploaded a few more photos.

Love and miss you all. Take care.
